On Sunday, November 11th, my family and I attended the Bells of Peace ceremony at Fort Rodd Hill. As we stopped to listen to the bell as it rang out in memory of a hundred years since the end of World War I, behind us, the sun was setting over the Fisgard Lighthouse. It was a beautiful sight, one that reminded us to be thankful each day that we are alive and well in our beautiful city. To remember not only the men and women that fought but also to remember the reasons. Reasons that are no less important or relevant today. It was an inspiring end to a day of remembrance.
