Sometimes, it’s the little things that bring joy into your life.
For the last couple of years, we’ve been making a concerted effort to cut down on the clutter around the house to reduce the distractions and bring a little calm to our lives. So bringing in new things now, for the sake of holiday decorating, seems a little counter-intuitive. But we have a nine-year old – Christmas is going to happen and it’s going to have lots of decorations.
However, I can keep some things simple. Instead of adding things more things, there are some I can switch. Like dishcloths. I saw this yarn during a recent trip to Michael’s. It was bright and cheerful and fit the “Christmassy” bill without adding clutter – after all I use dishcloths everyday. I kept it to the simple pattern so I could easily create the dishcloths without adding to the endless to do list that every mother has.
So now when it’s time to clean the kitchen, it’s done with a Christmas cheer.
